Could save up and replace my hackintosh with one. But I don’t use my hackintosh, so I think I’ll let it keep collecting dust.
I need to max out the RAM on my desktop. Think I saw a 8 GB stick for 50 bucks, get two for a hundred bucks. More then I paid for two 8 GB sticks years ago.
Five bucks cheaper to buy two 8 GB sticks together. Does Amazon sell it?
PNY XLR8 DDR3 16GB (2x8GB) 1600MHz (PC3-12800) CAS 9 1.5V PC Memory Desktop Kit (MD16384KD3-1600-X9) Cheaper on Amazon. Will the price be the same or lower next month?
I don’t have a problem mixing different RAM brands. Pretty sure my motherboard only does dual channel, not quad channel. Just keep each two sticks the same brand.
You might get bad memory with PNY, don’t want to send it back. Somebody got two bad sets.
The 16gb kit I bought is 205 bucks, I paid $80.49 in 2012. Sold from Amazon for 205 bucks too. The newer model is cheaper.
Think I’ll skip upgrading my RAM. Can’t justify paying more then $80.49.
