Good price for a wireless AC router made by NETGEAR. I probably won’t put DD-WRT on it. Looks like Buffalo has some routers coming with DD-WRT, according to DD-WRT.com.
BUFFALO AirStation AC 1750 (1300 + 450 Mbps) Gigabit Dual Band Open Source DD-WRT Wireless Router – WZR-1750DHPD, one review says it doesn’t need to be rebooted. Apparently their NETGEAR router does. Either their NETGEAR is defective, or super old, or possibly the cheapest one. Never heard any problems with the router my sister had. And it was a cheap one. NETGEAR is cheaper then that BUFFALO. I had a linkstation, and an animal knocked it down, and the drive inside died. Basically a housing with no protection.
Just read some more of the review on the Buffalo, it was a high end NETGEAR that they were having problems with. In that case, maybe I will buy Buffalo instead. Bad news is the built in antennas might be more powerful then my TP-LINK’s external antennas.
Keep my cheap TP-LINK or replace it with a Buffalo? Maybe I’ll decide next month, if not, I’ll have $135.99. Based on the reviews of other Buffalo routers, I might have to pass.
Think I’ll keep my current router.
