Removed the rest of the crap from laptop

Might be faster now. Didn’t think any of the other stuff installed would matter. Apparently I was wrong.

Should probably cancel the Crucial SSD order. But I’m lazy.

Booting Ubuntu from USB on Toshiba laptop

Looks like it loaded. Let’s see if the wifi works, probably, it’s an atheros.

Yup wifi works. The touchpad might not freeze either.

Ubuntu 15.04 appears to be fully functional on the Toshiba Satellite C55D-B5102. Why is Ubuntu faster then Windows 10? Is it slow if I install it?

This drive is slow as fuck. Maybe I should get a 120 GB drive. Cheaper, but the drive in it is using around 40 GB. Might be more now. Nice Windows can’t even load now.

Fucking slow ass drive made me buy a SSD. Need to own a Crucial SSD anyways. Mad at Toshiba for putting a super slow drive in my laptop. So no OCZ. Crucial memory is good, let’s see how their SSDs are.

Macrium Reflect is light years a head of Todo backup

It’ll add drivers to the Windows PE image, it automatically detects some of your devices.

The free version is better then the paid version of Todo backup.

And my touchpad isn’t fixed. Might be the palm tracking thing, might of been maximum with the old version, changed it in the new or old driver. Wasn’t doing it for a while. Better change it back to the default setting.

Might need a mouse for my laptop

The touchpad doesn’t work for some seconds after typing. Sometimes it does. Maybe the slow ass drive is getting taxed.

I have two bluetooth mouses, I could use the magic mouse with hackintosh and use the HP with my laptop. But I’d have to buy another USB bluetooth adapter. Laptop doesn’t have bluetooth. They managed to add a SD card reader though. Super slow to copy images from SD card to the network share, around 2 mb/s. Not sure what kind of ethernet it has, but 100 mb would be faster then 2 mb/s. I have a USB 3.0 gigabit ethernet adapter somewhere.

Toshiba monitor on laptop is crap for pictures anyways. Or maybe it’s just to bright.

Going to see the exact type of touchpad it has, and look for a newer driver. Maybe the one Toshiba provides is crap.

Says the driver is from 6/23/15, might be the newest.

Says to download from your system manufacture.

Why is the does version have a release date of July 28th but version has a release date of July 23rd? I have the version from the 23rd, so I’ll downgrade. Funny the list on the July 28th version says the newer one was released on the 29th. But once you click it, it says the 23rd.

And it might be fixed. I’ll be sure to never upgrade the touchpad driver.

Might have something to do with the palm tracking setting. Nope just did it again. Might need to buy a replacement touchpad on eBay.

Yup it’s an old version, checked in device manager. Downloading the new driver now. That I had before. I’ll lookup if a slow drive can make the touchpad freeze.

Where did the moon go?

When I went outside I saw it. On the way in couldn’t see it. Looked out window too. No picture of the moon for me.

Buy SSD now or wait?

Probably wait until I get more memory. That way I can see if the hard drive is on the back like somebody said in the Toshiba forum. Not the same model, but said the memory is non upgradeable.

Should just have to unscrew the bottom, and everything should be accessible. I could open it before getting RAM, but I’m lazy. I could even still a 4 GB stick of RAM from my hackintosh, but I’m lazy. I could also move linux to a different drive, and use the OCZ 120 GB in my laptop, but I’m lazy.

Kaspersky doesn’t offer a monthly subscription anymore

If you try to find it on Google, you won’t. I saw it yesterday when I searched google for “kaspersky”. Maybe it’s in my history. Found it in my history. 8 bucks a month. Probably better paying for a year.

I don’t know anything about computers

Read a comment on a review for a USB 3.0 wireless AC adapter. Says you if you know anything about computers you won’t upgrade on day one without verifying it will work. I didn’t verify anything, well the Windows 10 reserve thing checked. Said everything was compatible. I had to reinstall the NVIDIA driver.

Might have to reinstall the AMD driver on my laptop.

Kaspersky doesn’t appear to slow laptop down

Maybe I’ll switch to it from Webroot. After Webroot expires. It would probably make me uninstall Webroot on my desktop, says the license is good for three devices.

Still waiting for Windows 10 to finish updating.
