Radeon Profile shows the wrong RPM for my fan

Says around 100 RPM. It says that because it’s multiplying the % by 2.55. So 100% is only 255 RPM, according to it.

See here for info on the 255 number. That’s 255 PWM cycles. According to sensors, the fan is around 2000 RPM right now.

I only have two steps in my fan curve, 40C 50%, and 65C 100%. The GPU is under 30C, which I guess gets almost 50% fan speed.

They should change it to PWM cycles, instead of RPM. If they want to show the RPM, get it from sensors. Or maybe there’s a /sys that shows it.

It’s getting the “RPM” from “/sys/class/drm/card1/device/hwmon/hwmon1/pwm1”, that’s PWM cycles, not RPM.

cat /sys/class/drm/card1/device/hwmon/hwmon1/fan1_input

There you go, I did the work for you, that’s 2017 RPM.
