They’ve been repairing computers for 20 years, and it took them a while to learn to use a Linux terminal?

That’s sad. Linux terminal is easy, and I have zero issues using any Linux distro.

Anyone know why VMware Workstation Player is super slow? Trying to change my remote config. Looks like it just froze.

Well, VMware Workstation Player might be the worst virtualization software. Should see if VirtualBox works better.

Is there a universal remote that you can configure from Linux? There’s a way to configure the Logitech Harmony remote in Linux, but I’m lazy.

You know what’s hard to use? The Window command prompt. The only Linux command that I know works, is cd. And it uses a backwards slash instead of a forward slash. Pain in the ass.

Cheese and sausage English Muffins

Would probably be better with eggs on it too. But I’m to lazy to cook eggs, that means cleaning the stove and burners.

The breakfast sausage patties are fully cooked frozen ones.

L4T Ubuntu

New Linux distro for the Switch, it’s based on NVIDIA’s distro for their Tegra.

So there’s hardware acceleration.

Does the battery get messed up like first Linux distros for it?

Guess I didn’t need a HDMI extender. Except, I like having the TV connected as a display, no special software needed, except for on the extender.

Downloading it, in case I get unlazy and put it on my Switch. That means taking the micro SD card out of my unused Raspberry Pi Zero.

It does mess up the clock in the Switch OS.

Clock gets messed up in horizon

Somebody on GBAtemp claims Steam isn’t for ARM Linux. The Steam Link app is, don’t know if it works on the Switch though, works on the Raspberry Pi.

And they said the battery will be fine. Somebody also asked, if you can just copy the files to an ext4 partition, you can, just mount the img file, and copy, you need to copy the files on partition 1 to the FAT32 partition too.

Oh yeah, and apparently the Switch does 4k in Linux, probably only 30 Hz, because of the HDMI version. My HDMI switch doesn’t do 4k.

Why is it moving it to the left? I might be restoring my EmuNAND backup.

Saints Row: The Third is out for the Switch? Maybe somewhere else.

Ha, it’s going to take over an hour to shrink the partition.

Linux is copied to the ext4 partition, and the stuff to boot on the FAT32 partition. Updating RetroArch, then I’ll see if Linux works. Does it support WPA enterprise?

Don’t use a HDMI audio extractor with a HDMI extender over IP

Adds audio delay. Didn’t notice that before. Might add input lag too.

It would be better, for the extender to have a audio extractor.

Sometime after I wake up, I’ll unhook the audio extractor, and change the remote config again. Don’t really need music on the TV soundbase anyways. Use the ZVOX, or listen to nothing.

I did get multiple screens, to launch steam, I just run “DISPLAY=:0.1 steam” and it opens on the TV.

xorg.conf stuff that matters. Might not need the AMDGPU part, and probably don’t need the “AutoAddGPU”.

I may or may not change the refresh rate, I’d have to look up the option to do so. Before the input lag got worse, I managed to fly a plane without crashing. Jumped out onto a roof, but when jumping off the roof, I clicked X instead of Y, so no parachute, and I died.

The trick is ZaphodHeads and to change one of the cards to Card1, if you copy and paste. Don’t do what the reverse engineered open source NVIDIA driver says to do, they say to use HDMI-0, without the A, that doesn’t work.

Update
I commented out the AMDGPU device, not the driver, the one identified as that. X still works, haven’t turned the TV on, but I can move the mouse to the TV.

Mate has one serious flaw

Pauses my music when locking the screen. So if you are taking a dump, once the computer automatically locks the screen, the music stops.

I thought it was doing the skipping thing, nope it never came back. Until I unlocked my computer.

Good luck solving the problem, Google is 100% useless, as usual.

Don’t see any setting to change, maybe there is one in a text file somewhere.

Looks like it isn’t when it locks. When it shuts the screen off.

Not a Linux problem. If you blank the screen, the HDMI over IP adapter, the audio gets shutoff. Think it’s still playing, just can’t hear it.

If only the other monitor had it’s own DISPLAY.

Can’t get it on a separate screen. Google is useless, that is the old way of doing it.

30 Hz reduces input lag, problem is, mirroring the displays, and my monitor doesn’t do 30 Hz, the lowest is 50 Hz. Oh well, at least 50 Hz is slightly better.

To lazy to figure out the name of Saints Row, what develspie would see. The command to show the programs, doesn’t show Saints Row.

Does monitor calibration work with HDMI over IP?

Probably not, it says the TV is 22″, it shows the HDMI over IP thing, says “LKV 22″”.

That would be the easiest way to get the colors better. I’ll enjoy the shitty colors, I’m to lazy to do anything about it.

Buy a new TCL TV, one of the more expensive models, they might have good default settings. Or a different brand, like Vizio. But I like Roku TVs.

Use an HDMI audio extractor, and you get music on your TV soundbase without using Airplay.

If the game isn’t playable in Linux then it isn’t worth playing

Either natively or with Wine/Proton/etc. Using a VM for Windows isn’t worth it. That’s why I took one video card out of my computer, the one not as good.

VMware Workstation Player is kind of useless for games, doesn’t support newer DirectX. I’ll use it for my Logitech remote software, and iTunes.

I can play non Linux games on my PS4, and Switch. No need to fiddle with Windows.

Don’t know why people love Windows so much. If more people played games in Linux, more games might be for Linux. There’s more Linux games now then there use to be.

No wonder sound doesn’t work with the HDMI audio extractor, the Monoprice HDMI switch isn’t on. Got to change the config for the remote again. And it works now.

That’s a good way to wake up earlier

Needing to take a dump. I started farting at some point in the morning. I got up shortly after the second alarm.

I should go to bed early, so I can get at least 15 hours of sleep.

Her work is also more important then family

And it was also her idea to make dinner. So she should complain to herself.

I’d probably be skinny if I didn’t eat at her house.

Family is only important if it isn’t me. Surprised she didn’t put me up for adoption, she probably tried, but nobody wanted me.

There’s a runny dump

As soon as I sat on the Jonny, the shit was coming out.

Was that from the food today or yesterday? Might of been the vegetables on the pizza I ate yesterday. If you don’t eat vegetables, and then eat a bunch, you might take a runny dump.
