OctoPrint-CVPrinting

Probably won’t work on an Orange Pi Zero 2. Needs to be as powerful or more powerful then the Raspberry Pi 5. Might as well get the Pi 5 instead of Rock anything, as Pi has better software, newer kernel with the Pi.

Might need a new webcam too, it’s too close to printer in enclosure, might be better if I put it behind printer. But auto focus would be nice. The NexiGo N930AF even advertised Linux support. Cheaper on eBay, but not sure about those sellers.

Going to print a different webcam stand thing, maybe that’ll make it acceptable. Might be taller. That should work with any webcam that mounts on a monitor. The one I’m using is for the ancient webcam.

Might be too lazy to move it behind printer. And the distance won’t be that much better anyways.

OctoPrint-CVPrinting

If I use CVPrinting, I don’t have to pay as much attention, it can pause the print for me, if there’s an issue.

And those Cura bridge settings don’t work for my PETG filament and printer. Got to print that again. And OctoPrint crashed or something again. Hmm, or maybe it’s Tailscale. Should just disable the exit node on my desktop, and use WireGuard like before. Damn, might be the USB two port hub. Well, a Pi 5 will solve that, won’t need a hub.

Only seems to happen when the printer is doing nothing, or heating it up. Maybe the cable is crap. Might as well get a new cable too. I open the enclosure to get crap off nozzle. So it might be moving the cables. As it completed a six hour print no issues. And once again, search engines don’t understand English. And it might only be the printer losing the connection, so either I got another bad board, or the cable maybe. Shouldn’t be using any power, it’s plugged into a thing that disables the power. So only webcam is using power. Have to search for the message “usb 2-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 16” because search engines are too stupid. Hmm is auto suspend shit enabled? Cause it isn’t on Orange Pi 4 or whatever.'

Hmm, but if it ain’t getting power, auto suspend might not be the issue.

If it’s the PSU on the Orange Pi Zero 2, I need a powered hub, because it’s the one it came with.

Add “extraargs=usbcore.autosuspend=-1” to /boot/armbianEnv.txt might fix it, that’s how I disabled it on the Orange Pi 4 or is it 5? No idea anymore. The file is /boot/orangepiEnv.txt if using the official Ubuntu image. And do I have to remake the boot files? mkimage -C none -A arm -T script -d /boot/boot.cmd /boot/boot.scr maybe.

Over an hour to go on print, so can’t reboot yet.

Hmm, if I get a Pi 5, I can use this old Orange Pi Zero 2, and the old webcam, as a security camera. Use Motion. Or better, just use the mjpg streamer, and use motion on something more powerful. Motion might be able to just stream, and not detect motion as well. Eh, try it anyways. What’s the name of the web interface thing? Here it is. And is the CPU 32bit ARM? Or 64bit? 64bit according to the Orange Pi site.

Hmm, think I should get two of those webcams, the old one sucks. It’s wide view, so better then old one. Cheaper then Logitech, for more money, you can get I think a fixed focus webcam, no thanks. I could get three, and use one with computer too, so I don’t have to use phone. But then I’m eating even more into money for Pi 5.

And that is the correct way to pass usbcore.autosuspend=-1 to the kernel on an Orange Pi Zero 2 running Ubuntu. cat /proc/cmdline, says it is set.

I have LED lights on top of the enclosure, so no need for IR or some other night vision tech, or even a light on the webcam.

And I’ll probably buy the Pi 5 from canakit.com. Amazon sucks. I should get a SSD for it, but I’m cheap. Already have a microSD card I can use with it. Yes, it will be way faster with SSD, but I might need a HAT too. The shipping with just three things is almost $17. Would cost $153.85 before shipping with SSD and HAT. And not sure the case I found works with SSDs. Damn around $170. At least the Pi kernel is updated more then the other SBCs.

Damn need a remix, and might not work with canakit SSD HAT. Fuck, might have to print more then one case, or remix one myself, to make it fit. I insist on printing a case, even though it’ll be white. I could use some wood PLA. Would have to dry it first. Hmm, maybe I will. LOL idiot uses Windows to SSH into Pi, Windows sucks ass.

Oh I can print the top in a different color, wood with a white PETG top. Or the other way. All wood would be better. Nice, they include STEP files. I think all remixes, are using 2280 SSDs, the one from canakit is smaller I think.

I need two Pi 5s though, to replace the Pi 4, would make Channels DVR better. Then again, I could move it to Mac mini.

Oops, forgot to change infill pattern to gyroid. Eh lines might be good enough for it.
