Pimoroni NVMe Base for Raspberry Pi 5

Doesn’t work, but dmesg shows one line like somebody who had a bad cable. So ordered a cable and another board, so I’ll possibly have two working ones. If the cable fixes it, then I’ll just not open the other board, and keep it as a spare, in case I get another Pi or something. I could just boot the NVMe from USB with the enclosure I bought, but I’d rather not.

Another $30 or so on this Pi. I didn’t bother emailing the store, asking for a free cable. Or replacement, I ain’t paying return shipping.

The Pi works, it boots from a slow USB drive, didn’t know where micro SD slot was, it’s under the board. Impossible to get to with my case. Or I put the case together wrong, I forget which is the top and bottom. Pain to remove the board from it.

I did break something off of something, no idea what, looks like a cheap plastic thing. And broke one of the cheap plastic legs for the PCIe connector. Apparently I should have gived up sooner. But i could use glue to keep it in place maybe. It stays in place anyways. Hopefully it’s good enough, I’ll find out when the parts come. Unless the cable and board and cable are all defective. The board should come with a cable too.

Not the same site, slightly cheaper shipping on the other site. Amazon doesn’t have it, well the board, for a whooping $30. No cable by itself though. Guess that would have cost the same, but no extra cable.
