Going to try that instead of mjpg-streamer.
I want 1080p 30 FPS, and mjpg-streamer is in slow motion if you do so.
Just installed vlc-bin, didn’t install any X stuff, does the minimal Raspbian come with that?
If you install vlc-plugin-base, it’ll install X related stuff. But I think you need that for it to work. And how will h264 work? Does the Pi Zero have hardware transcoding?
Slower motion then mjpg-streamer, I lowered the bitrate, that didn’t solve it.
The CPU usage isn’t high.
Not slow motion, huge delay in getting video. So put your hand in front of it, and it doesn’t show up right away. VLC on my desktop could be the problem.
It’s missing packets, according to MPlayer.
The delay is there if you lower the resolution too.
Trying to do HTTP streaming with VLC now. Why do you have to use ogg? Use mux=ts, otherwise it won’t work. And the shitty delay is still there.
If you use netcat, run nc -l 5001 on your giant computer, then send the data from the camera on the Pi to your giant computer, | nc xxx 5001.
Problem with that, is that would make a PITA script, you’d have to start the command on your desktop, then ssh into the Pi to start the sending script. You might be able to just keep sending it to your desktop forever, but that’s messy.
No delay if you do that though. At least not visible to me. Is there a reason the Pi can send data no problem, but if it’s the server it sucks?
I updated the firmware on the Pi, it did nothing. The other Pi seems to have the same issue. Maybe it’s the USB ethernet adapter. They have the same one.
