AKASO 360 Weatherproof 360° Action Camera

The Insta360 X4 is probably better, but the AKASO is only $200. Think it came out on the 7th, which is why I didn’t see it. According to the review, I didn’t read all of it, but it suffers in less light, it needs to be bright apparently. That is probably worse then the X4.

Not sure what accessories you can get for it either. Amazon makes a GoPro chest mount that was $13, if you have the utility frame for the X4, you can use GoPro accessories. It works fine with my X4.

Can you get some kind of case for it with a cold shoe mount? I doubt using my light for outside 360 video would work well though. If it can record in normal mode, then it might work, at least inside.

I doubt Best Buy sells the AKASO anyways. Nope, so you can’t trade something in to Best Buy for a gift card, and buy the AKASO.

Oh and I don’t think AKASO has Linux software either, so there’s no advantage I can see to it, other then price. Now if they had Linux software, I would have wished I bought it instead. Or maybe not, the X4 is still better. I can record 8k @ 30 FPS, I think. Says to only do so in good lightning though. Haven’t tried recording @ 8k yet, as it’s only 30 FPS. Also, I can’t export at 8k on the iPhone, only 4k. So if I edit the video, no 8k for me. So I guess 8k is kind of pointless.

I could buy a new Mac mini with 16 GB of RAM someday, but I think I’ll get a lens for my camera instead, it’s $220 vs over $300 depending on the Mac mini model. Or maybe the TCL QM5k for $330, mini LED TV. That’s bargain price for a mini LED TV.

Does the Windows software need a good GPU? Cause I could use Windows crap in a VM, and edit the video with that. But I only have one GPU, and not messing around with GPU passthrough. I kind of dislike Windows too much to use it in a VM though. But that would be cheaper then a Mac with soldered RAM.

Well, the laptop has two GPUs, thanks to eGPU. But I’m incredibly lazy. The laptop probably has a Windows license as well, probably came with it.
