Found instructions finally here.
I just created the main.conf file in /etc/bluetooth.
[General]
Class = 0x040414
Name = FaKeHiFi
That’s what mine looks like.
I got a Monster Bluetooth transmitter from Walmart, cheaper then Best Buy, and slightly cheaper then the one I saw on Amazon.
I had to raise the maximum volume, and then increase the volume on the WirePlumber [export]. Don’t want the headphones @ 100% volume. Also had to turn the volume all the way down or off on the record player/radio. Guess it outputs on the built in speakers too.
Oh and that Bluetooth transmitter didn’t come with the right cable, so used the 3.5mm to RCA from my Mac mini.
I didn’t change JustWorksRepairing. I just authorized and trusted it. No issues yet.
Since my mom will probably need a transmitter too, if she buys the same one, she’ll most likely need a cable or adapter. Didn’t check Walmart for the right cable. Guess I don’t have to use CPU on any of my computers now, just the radio.
And don’t get too close to the transmitter with Bluetooth headphones on, it causes interference.
You can’t easily do that with iOS. Doesn’t even see my phone, the transmitter. Apple is a dick. Not that you’d need to do that on a phone anyways. Still Apple is a dick.
The volume on the transmitter does nothing when connected to computer. I hear an echo, if I increase the volume on record player/radio, that’s how I figured out it was playing through it’s own speakers too.
But I can record records over Bluetooth now, just need a record, slow ass shipping for records from the same place. There’s places in town with records too.
The digital version might be better, but I got nothing better to do. It’s sort of digital, analog to digital. You don’t need an expensive transmitter for records, there’s no video to be in sync. And why would anyone pay over $100 for the one at Best Buy? Rip off. Make one with a SBC, could cost less, depending on what SBC, or if you already have one or more. I’m just lazy. And this transmitter or something may have a slight issue, of cutting out. I could just stream it from the router computer. But I’m too lazy to get up and turn this off.
Walmart has a cable for $10, might be junk though. Amazon has cheaper cables, don’t buy from Monoprice’s website, I did so, and my card info got stolen, they wouldn’t admit it. Never gave them my card info again, and so far fine. I only use my PayPal card online now. Not sure if I had the last card on Monoprice though.
